nereo, el anciano del mar, conocía todos los secretos y las rutas del océano, dominaba las fuerzas marinas y podía transformarse en cualquier animal, objeto o planta de su reino. junto a sus cincuenta hijas, las nereidas, guiaba a los marineros y ayudaba a los pescadores.
